Why did you select this story?
I chose this story, because I think this happens with almost every single girl, not only in Kazakhstan, but all over the world.
What was your experience making this story? Did you have any revelations about yourself?
Today, I realized that I am so strong, because I have three stories like this. Three times someone tried to rape me—first, when I was eight years old, second time when I was nine years old, and despite everything...I was so strong. Everything that I planned, I achieved those goals. That makes me feel so proud of myself. And today, with you (Footage) and your help, I realized I am so strong and I overcame everything.
Do you feel you contributed something to other women?
Yes, I think I did. I think I contributed a lot, because a lot of girls, some who were raped or who were almost raped, do not share their stories. They think that they are useless, they are bad, and life has ended for them. They forget they exist as a person, as a human being. And I think I contributed with them, sharing my story.
Why did you take part in this project?
The subject that you have raised is very, very important now. It is very topical in our society... I told this story to my grandma and to my mother, and then the second time, I shared this story with you (Footage)... I am ready to share my stories, and I am ready with all my heart and all my soul to contribute as much as I can... I want to thank you... With your help, girls open up. You give them motivation. You support them. These girls understand that there are some people out there who support them. You protect their rights... We will never forget you, and we will talk about it all our life.
