“At the beginning everything was fine, and she was happy. But then things went wrong.”

What is the main point of your story?
I’m trying to express my point of view on that Muslim girls are being heavily discriminated.
What do you want young women to take from your story?
Don't be desperate and be confident in yourself. Do not hesitate about God, about your beliefs and about some things that are mistaken because there is a lot of propaganda against this story.
Why did you say yes to this project?
As a woman, I really want to help other women. All I want is to help another woman, even if it’s the smallest piece of contribution.

What do you want young women to take from your story?
You shouldn’t forgive all the time. You can give people a chance, but afterwards, if you see that there is no change, that there is nothing the alcoholic can do with themselves, then you just need to leave. Don’t be patient because I can see my relatives suffering a lot with this, but they’re not leaving, probably because they’re afraid. But you shouldn’t be afraid.
Did you have any difficulties?
I saw the word violence in that handbook and I immediately remembered this incident in my life. I understood how it was pressuring me mentally and I saw the pictures of that. The memory came out so brightly, but I felt that it was quite easy to speak about them, to describe them and to draw them.
What did you enjoy?
I like the atmosphere the most. We created some kind of community here and then I could speak about everything that really matters to me. I’ve never had this kind of experience before because when I was expressing my point of view before, I was controlling and limiting myself because I was afraid that some information would get back to my parents. But here I feel free and it was very easy to tell my story.
