What is the main point of your story?
The point is to get the message across emotionally and visually to those women who will watch this, how pain from home violence can sublimate into art. Living together with a man is quite difficult, for both a man and a woman to strive to attain some life goal. Thus, violence might not be consciously perceived as intentional harm. It’s just some aggression which should come out after overstrain. When I realized that, I made a decision to go into art. It is clear, that at some point the two have to separate to escape from the loss of yourself or loss of a family. I chose myself, I chose life.
What do you want young women to take away?
I wish to all of you to take inspiration, only inspiration.
Why did you tell this story?
Now I can work with those people I only dreamed to work with. And, it means I achieved personal and professional levels which are quite high. But, I miss my family. There were many factors that had an impact on my decision: location, internal displacement, moving places—all that had some impact.
Do you feel taken part in this program impacted you in any way?
Yes, this workshop showed me my life in retrospect.
